His interest and passion was born while listening to his elder sibling's classic NY style deep house music cds and tapes of the late 80's and early to mid 90's. Fast forward to the new millennium, DJ RO's musical interests peaked while attending events at mega clubs such as Pacha NYC as well as spending endless nights in the middle of dancing circles at the underground after hour scenes in Jersey, Queens and Brooklyn. At that point, is when he decided to pursue his disc jockey career. With the inspiration from some of his favorite DJs, his tech house stylo has been influenced by some of the industry's biggest tastemakers such as Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Victor Calderone, Chus N Ceballos, and Richie Hawtin. He seamlessly mixes his new age tech sound with energetic bass lines, latin inspired percussions, sexy vocals with subtle glimpses of classic NY deep house groove giving birth to a dancing experience rarely heard before. What started out as musical hobby at house parties, local lounges, clubs and after hour gigs in NJ and the outer NY metro area has propelled to sets at NYC's Pacha, System, Sullivan Room, WMC in Miami, and international gigs in Costa Rica for New Years 2013; in addition, to frequent appearances on NYC's GlobalMixx internet radio show. His recognition and momentum has taken off thanks in part to the legendary DJ Danny Tenaglia's high praise for his mix "The Kids Want Tribal" where DT included DJ RO, on his up and coming DJ hot list. DJ RO's highly acclaimed podcast "Tha Kids Want Tribal" is nearing 700,000 views and counting on Youtube, reaching the ears of electronic music enthusiasts all around the globe. As his Costa Rican mantra states "Pura Vida", DJ RO aspires to expand horizons by traveling and playing from the most intimate venues to large scale events and festivals.
