I tracked down a mountain of bizarre fake Nintendo games to see just how wrong these bootleg consoles can get it.From a system claiming to be an NES that somehow runs a distorted version of Mario, to a 3DS cartridge that promises Mario Kart but delivers something else entirely, these items are a mess. I spent time navigating through strange menus and broken gameplay loops to see if any of these bootleg consoles function as advertised. The experience gets even weirder with a racing game that features strange engine classes and a horoscope puzzle title that feels like it belongs in a different dimension. I even attempted to use a standard Wii steering wheel to see if these knockoffs respect any original hardware standards. It turns out that most of these retro gaming relics are just fascinating examples of poor manufacturing that offer a hilarious look at what happens when developers try to copy the classics.Subscribe for more deep dives into weird tech, and let me know in the comments if you have ever accidentally bought a bootleg game. 0:00 Testing the limits of fake Nintendo consoles 2:01 The bizarre world of mobile Mario clones 5:04 Is a 468-in-1 DS cartridge actually legit? 7:48 Racing as Goku in a fan-made Mario Kart mod 10:07 Final verdict on fan-made versus fake games
