from chapter Luke ch. 4 and Isaiah ch.61 in the Bible. @TribalGospel exists only to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. You will find more content like this at https://tribalgospel.com/ This is the script of "Jesus Said These Words.": In the fourth chapter of the book of Luke, Jesus went to Nazareth where he had been brought up; and as was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath Day and stood up to read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place in chapter sixty-one where Isaiah spoke about the coming of the Messiah, the Christ, God's rescuer of the human race. Jesus read, "The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce pardon and forgiveness to those who have been held captive by the enemy of God. He has sent me to give sight to the blind, to set free all who are oppressed, and to proclaim the Acceptable Year of the Lord, a time when God's rescue and deliverance will be richly abundant." Then He rolled up the scroll ā having stopped in the middle of a verse ā and gave the scroll back to the attendant. Then he said to the people, "Isaiah was talking about me, and about this moment." Jesus stopped reading in the middle of the verse. He did not read the second half. The full sentence in Isaiah says, "to proclaim the year of theĀ Lordās favor and the day of vengeanceĀ of our God." But Jesus read only the first half and then sat down. You and I are living in the most extraordinary time in history. We are living in that special window of time when God is willing to forgive us and is anxious to rescue us. Jesus quit reading because today is NOT āThe day of vengeance of our God." God so lovedĀ the world that he gaveĀ his one and only Son,Ā that whoever believesĀ in him shall not perish but have eternal life.Ā For God did not send his Son into the worldĀ to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.Ā For God did not send his Son into the worldĀ to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.Ā For God did not send his Son into the worldĀ to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.Ā We live in the year of the Lord's acceptance; a time when God's rescue and deliverance are richly abundant. https://tribalgospel.com/way-back-in-the-long-ago/
