Nathan Clift always loved The Oz Novels by L. Frank Baum. He loved the movie and stage versions of it. He watched the original film literally 2-3 times a day (allegedly often with his Grandmother) as a young child on VHS. And he always wanted to know more about Auntie Em and Uncle Henry. When Dorothy left for 3 months in the original novel, what were they going through? This want was the original inspiration for the Song Cycle-turned Challenge. “Necessary” from Under the Storm (a show Nathan started developing once the song was completed). ————————————— Nathan Clift is a New York-based multi-hyphenate theatrical artist. As a playwright, Nathan has written both short plays for college directing classes as well as full-length works (which are available on New Play Exchange). He has also been developing Daybreak: A New Musical Fairy Tale, which has 9 composer demo tracks available on YouTube. He received his BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Connecticut State University in the Spring of 2019. Outside of writing, directing, choreographing, and performing, Nathan also is a freelance video editor (NC Video Services). He conceptualized Back at Home in June 2022, and is excited to see this project take off. www.nathanclift.com
