This video was originally created as a BIRTHDAY GIFT for my Aunt Betty Jo Cordova, who used to play “Black Cow” in her car a lot when we were kids. And when I was a kid, I completely misunderstood the song. I honestly thought “Black Cow” was about someone who actually owned a REAL BLACK COW. Years later, while learning the basics of Flash animation, I decided to turn that childhood misunderstanding into a little animated music-video story. ABOUT THE VIDEO This was one of my early experiments with digital animation and timing artwork to music. I was teaching myself the fundamentals of Flash: • Creating and animating text • Creating artwork • Importing graphics • Animating objects • Timing animation to music • Building a visual story around an existing recording It is a very different piece of work from what I create today, but it is an important part of my early transition from traditional commercial art into digital art, animation and multimedia.
