On site in Tucson for a full dual 48V inverter and solar install on a DRV fifth wheel — shot on a rainy day while the RV was mid roof-replacement and full body wrap, so we worked around both. What went into this build: ⚡ Power system - 2x Victron MultiPlus 5000VA inverter/chargers, wired master/slave in split phase for a combined 8,000W of off-grid power - 3x 48V EcoWorthy batteries as the main battery bank - Victron Lynx Distributor + Lynx Shunt (BMS) — wired with the shunt and distributor positions swapped from the "normal" layout, which works fine as long as the polarity on the power leads is reversed to match - Victron Autoformer to balance the two legs when running off-grid or on generator - Separate 12V EcoWorthy 150Ah battery dedicated to the jacks and slide-outs ☀️ Solar - 2,500W on the roof — 10x 250W panels wired as two strings of 5 in series, then combined in parallel into a single junction point - Victron SmartSolar 250/70 charge controller - 8-gauge wire run from the roof down to a dedicated solar cutoff breaker 🖥️ Monitoring & connectivity - Victron Cerbo GX running the show, feeding data to a Victron GX Touch touchscreen mounted where it plugs in directly (no extra fluctuation issues on the display) - Everything visible remotely on VRM - Starlink cable run for the customer 🔌 The AC wiring path Transfer switch (shore power / generator) → splitter box → leg 1 and leg 2 into the master and slave inverters → Victron Autoformer → power distribution panel. Clean, one-directional flow with no guesswork once it's wired in. This was a two-stage build — rough-in and pre-wiring on day one while the roof crew worked around us, a week's gap, then panel completion, final wiring, and a full customer walkthrough on day two. By the finish, the battery bank was bulk charging at 100A per battery bank while plugged into 50A shore power, with both inverters charging simultaneously.
