In our videos, we’re solving the puzzles of pain by uncovering how everyday habits, movement patterns, and body imbalances create discomfort — and how to fix them! This is a big question because there is no single price that works for every therapist. The right price depends on your location, the type of service you provide, your experience, your expenses, and the kind of clients you want to serve. When I started, the first thing I did was research the area where I wanted to work. I looked at massage businesses, independent therapists, mobile massage services, spas, clinics, and wellness centers nearby. I checked how much they charged for 60-minute and 90-minute sessions and found the average price for that area. That gave me a starting point. You don’t have to be the cheapest therapist just because you recently graduated. But you also need to be realistic about your current experience and what you are offering. Start around the average price in your area, or slightly below it while you build your confidence, skills, reviews, and client base. Then increase your price as your schedule becomes busier and your service becomes more valuable. A good rule is this: when your schedule is regularly full and clients are booking without hesitation, it may be time to raise your price. But don’t only think about the number. Think about what makes your service special. Maybe you include hot stones at no extra charge. Maybe you offer a short postural assessment, mobility check, sports recovery evaluation, stretching, aromatherapy, or simple home-care recommendations. Choose something connected to your specialty. Don’t add random extras just to impress people. Add something that improves the client’s experience and shows your knowledge. Here are a few practical steps for setting your price: 1. Research your local market Search for massage prices in the exact area you want to serve. Compare independent therapists, spas, clinics, and mobile services separately because their prices may be very different. 2. Compare the same type of service Don’t compare an in-home medical massage with a basic spa massage. Look at services that are similar in length, location, quality, and specialty. 3. Know your expenses Your price needs to cover more than your hands-on time. Think about rent, travel, gas, laundry, oils, linens, insurance, booking software, marketing, taxes, equipment, and the time between clients. A 60-minute massage may require much more than 60 minutes of your day. 4. Decide how you want to position yourself Do you want to be a budget therapist, a general massage therapist, a sports specialist, a pain-management therapist, or a premium mobile provider? Your price should match your position, presentation, education, and client experience. 5. Create a starting offer without lowering your value Instead of making your regular price too cheap, offer a first-session special, a package, or a small bonus. For example: “First session includes a complimentary mobility assessment.” This attracts clients without teaching them that your work should always be discounted. 6. Increase your price as you grow As your education, confidence, results, reviews, and demand improve, your price should also improve. You are not charging only for one hour. You are charging for your education, your preparation, your skill, your energy, your professional judgment, and the result you can provide. The biggest mistake new therapists make is choosing a very low price because they are afraid nobody will book. Low pricing may attract people who are only searching for the cheapest massage. Those clients may not value your time, may not return consistently, and may leave as soon as they find a lower price. Your goal is not to be the cheapest therapist. Your goal is to become the therapist people trust. Research your area, start with a fair price, create something special, continue your education, and adjust your pricing as your practice grows. The price should grow together with you. 🔔 Stay Connected: ============================= ✅ Thank you for supporting "Jurij"!
