In this video, I try the world-famous biryani in Hyderabad, India—one of the main reasons I decided to visit the city. I start off with a rickshaw ride from my hotel into the city center, which is definitely an adventure in itself. I head to Shadab Hotel, one of the top places to try biryani in town. When I walk in, two locals invite me to join their table. They’re really generous, sharing their biryani with me, and even though I offer to pay, they insist on covering it. The biryani was delicious—rich, flavorful, and well-spiced. After lunch, I take a walk over to Charminar, one of Hyderabad’s most famous landmarks. On the way, I chat with a few street vendors before climbing the steep steps to the top for a view of the city. Next, I stop by a well-known tea shop to try Irani Chai and biscuits. The chai was smooth and a bit different from the masala chai I’ve had elsewhere in India. To wrap up my day, I try Shahdoodh Malai, a creamy, berry dessert that was a nice treat.
