Can You Do This Magic Trick? 🔮✨ One afternoon after school, Kuba and Olek were sitting on a bench outside the classroom when Kuba suddenly pulled a small purple ball from his backpack. “Look what I found,” he said mysteriously. Olek looked at it and asked, “What is that?” Kuba smiled. “A magic crystal.” Olek immediately laughed. “Since when are you a magician?” Kuba stood up proudly and said, “Since five minutes ago.” He had watched a short magic video during lunch and was convinced that he had discovered an incredible new talent. He placed the purple ball on the bench, waved his hand above it, and whispered, “Abracadabra.” Nothing happened. Olek stared at him. “Amazing.” Kuba frowned. “Wait. I think the magic needs more energy.” He waved both hands this time. “ABRACADABRA!” Still nothing happened. Olek started laughing. “Maybe your magic is broken.” Kuba refused to give up. He looked around and noticed a pencil lying on the bench. “Watch this.” He placed the pencil next to the purple ball, covered both objects with a notebook, and announced, “In three seconds, the pencil will disappear.” Olek counted slowly. “One… two… three!” Kuba lifted the notebook. The pencil was still there. Kuba stared at it in confusion. “Okay, the pencil clearly doesn't understand the assignment.” Just then, their classmate Bartek walked over and asked what they were doing. Olek pointed at Kuba. “He thinks he's a magician.” Bartek smiled. “Really? Show me something.” Kuba immediately accepted the challenge. “Fine. Watch carefully.” He picked up a coin and placed it in his hand. “I'm going to make this coin disappear.” He closed his fist, waved his other hand over it, and dramatically opened his fingers. The coin was gone. Bartek's eyes widened. “Wait! How did you do that?” Kuba smiled proudly. Olek looked shocked too. “You actually did it?” Kuba suddenly looked nervous. “Uh… yes. Obviously.” He quickly checked his pockets. Nothing. He checked the bench. Nothing. He looked under the notebook. Nothing. “Where did the coin go?” Bartek asked. Kuba whispered, “I have absolutely no idea.” They searched around the bench until Olek noticed something shiny on the ground. He picked it up and laughed. “Kuba, your magic coin is right here.” Kuba looked at the coin and then at his friends. “Okay, that was intentional.” Bartek shook his head. “Sure.” Kuba decided that one failed trick wasn't enough to end his magical career. He pulled a rubber band from his backpack and announced that he could make it jump from one finger to another. He tried once. It fell. He tried again. It snapped off his finger and landed on the floor. Everyone laughed. Finally, Kuba decided to perform his biggest trick. He placed a small paper cup on the table and covered it with a sheet of paper. “When I remove this paper, the cup will have disappeared.” His friends gathered around. Kuba counted down dramatically. “Three… two… one!” He pulled the paper away. The cup was still there. Kuba stared at it for a moment before saying, “This is obviously a very stubborn cup.” Everyone burst out laughing. At that moment, their teacher walked past and asked, “What are you all laughing about?” Olek pointed at Kuba. “Kuba is trying to become a magician.” The teacher smiled. “Maybe you should practice a little more.” Kuba nodded seriously. “I will, but one day I'll be famous.” The teacher walked away laughing. Kuba packed everything into his backpack and looked at his friends. “Tomorrow, I will perform the greatest magic trick you've ever seen.” Olek raised an eyebrow. “Should we be worried?” Kuba smiled. “Absolutely.” The next afternoon, Kuba arrived with a deck of cards, a scarf, three coins, two cups, and an extremely serious expression. Olek looked at the collection of magic equipment and sighed. “This is going to be a long afternoon.” Kuba smiled. “Welcome to my magic show.” And even though almost every trick went wrong, his friends laughed so much that Kuba realized he didn't need real magic to make people smile. Sometimes the funniest trick was simply trying your best and confidently pretending everything had gone exactly according to plan.
