... Ya, it's technically a baritone, but I still think this is a cool arrangement with three parts being played by one instrument (and not an extended range instrument at that). Of course this is a culmination of me turning an Ibanez gsr205 into a six string version, and adding a sliding pickup for good measure. If you pay attention, you can see that both the bass and rhythm parts are played with the pickup at center, where as I moved the pickup to the neck position for the leads. The bass part is distinguished from the rhythm through use of finger style to give it that classic bass-y boost. The pickup at the bridge position was a little too harsh for me to use in this context. In a lot of my other videos using this instrument, I got many comments about how harsh it sounded probably because my original pickup solution was in that bridge position.
