NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Capitol S00-12045) Out of Los Angeles, this 1980 LP cut is the New Wave band, The Knack, giving homage to legendary record producer, Phil Spector and is more than likely the most spot-on Spectoresque, 'Wall Of Sound' production of the 1980's. Just as Sonny Bono, Marshall Lieb and Jerry Riopelle were known to recreate the Spector Sound in the 1960's, The Knack and their producer Mike Chapman, succeeded in doing the same two decades later with this echo-laden, percussive arrangement that melds the style of The Ronettes' 'Be My Baby' and The Crystals' 'Then He Kisses Me'. Recorded at MCA Whitney Recording Studios in Glendale, California, 'The Feeling I Get' is one of the exceptional tracks on the second album by this high energy group that hit the big time in 1979 with their #1 smash, 'My Sharona'. Founder and lead singer, Doug Fieger teamed up with original members, Berton Averre (lead guitar, backing vocals and keyboards), Prescott Niles (bass), and Bruce Gary (drums) in 1978 and began a whirlwind two years of touring and recording. The group took a year off due to exhaustion and internal friction, regrouped in 1981 briefly and then called it quits by 1982. Between 1986 and 2010 there were a few group reunions until the death of Doug Fieger on February 14, 2010 after losing his battle with cancer.
