YouTube Video Views Being Deleted - Video Count Going Up Then Down In this video I describe how I've noticed on a few occasions that a video has had it's view count reduced and go down. To be clear. I'm not talking about a channel's total view count slowing down. I'm talking about uploading a video, its views start to go up and increase then the view count suddenly goes down. Earlier hours today I uploaded a video and went to bed. When I looked at it later on after getting up it had 175 views with some comments. I replied to a couple of comments and then went to make a coffee. When I came back to reply to some more comments I'd noticed that the view count had gone down and been reduced to 123. How can this possibly happen? I can only surmise that YouTube deleted some of the views from the view counter and lowered the viewing figures. In any event, the altering of a video's viewing figures and therefore a video's performance, can only be done by YouTube Google. This is not something that a YouTuber or anyone else has control over. If this has happened to a video view count would it be a big stretch to wonder if such things can happen to a YouTube channel's subscriber count? It does beg the questions, are my subscriber numbers accurate, are YouTube altering these numbers? Regardless of what the cause is, if your video views are being deleted and lowered and you depend upon Google ad income as part of your YouTube channel. It would also be logical to say that your monetised Google ad income is not accurate or true either and you will be making less. This is a serious negative effect on your YouTube channel if you use it to generate income. I've recently also had issues with YouTube claiming copyright on some of my videos on behalf of UMG Universal Music Group. To be clear. UMG made false copyright claims for a number of my videos that have a song in them, Insanity by Oceanic. This song and the recordings are my own copyright, I own and control the publishing and also own the copyright to the audio recording. Yet YouTube have allowed UMG to make a false and illegal claim for something that they don't own. This has also meant that any income that is legally mine has been collected by UMG.
