Discover the story of Lot, Abraham's nephew who lived in the city of Sodom. ► SUBSCRIBE and ENABLE notifications for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSmCJLF--7KazZ9FCMLBtgQ The Bible tells us that Lot was the son of Haran, Abraham's brother. The origin and meaning of the name "Lot" are unknown. When Lot's father died prematurely in the city of Ur, he was taken care of by his grandfather Terah and his uncle Abraham. That's why when Abraham set off towards the land of Canaan, Lot went with him. But Lot and Abraham prospered so much that the land they were on could no longer support their herds. So Lot and Abraham went in different directions. That's how Lot ended up living in the fertile plains of the Jordan, in the region of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. When God decided to destroy those cities because of their many sins, He sent angels to Lot's house to rescue his family. Lot was married and had two daughters. But while Lot's family was fleeing the city of Sodom, his wife disobeyed the Lord's command and looked back. Because of this, she was turned into a pillar of salt. Lot and his two surviving daughters ended up living in a cave in the mountains, where their story ended very negatively. His daughters got him drunk and both of them became pregnant by him, giving rise to the Moabite and Ammonite peoples. After escaping from Sodom, Lot and his daughters lived in a small city, and then moved to a cave in the mountains.
