"There are over 150 McDonald's in Singapore and today I'm going to attempt to visit every single one of them." This is a sentence I one day harbour an ambition to say on this channel. Alas, today is not today. You may love it or loathe it, but McDonald's is probably my favourite restaurant in the world and the one I have been to more than any other. Throughout my life, McDonald's has always been used as a bit of a reward or treat. Won at football, get a Maccas. Perform Super Trooper by Abba at a Music Festival aged 9 - get your first big mac with a strawberry milkshake and throw it up almost immediately. You get the gist. So last week when I had finished presenting a social media strategy I had been working for one of the world's leading universities (aged 36), I got a bus almost directly (couple of missed stops) to the Golden Arches. And these are no ordinary arches. These are very zen Japanese Garden-style arches. In fact, this McDonald's is thought to be the most beautiful in Singapore. When you are at a Japanese-style McDonald's, only a Japanese inspired menu will do and that's what I got. The Samurai Burger menu and accoutrements have been around since the end of September and are likely to be finished by the end of October so if you are intrigued to try, be sure to get your order in before it's too late.
