여의도 버스환승센터 승강장 한쪽 계단을 내려가면 땅 밑 7~8m에 콘크리트 방이 하나 숨어 있습니다. 2005년 환승센터를 짓다가 처음 발견됐는데, 누가 언제 왜 만들었는지 기록을 찾을 수 없었거든요. 그래서 서류 대신 옛 항공사진을 뒤졌더니 1976년 11월과 이듬해 11월 사이에 생긴 방이라는 게 나오더라고요. 방이 놓인 자리는 옛 5·16 광장의 국군의 날 사열 단상 자리와 딱 겹쳤고, 콘크리트에서 뽑아낸 코어는 50cm였죠. 그래도 누가 지시하고 누가 지었는지는 지금도 빈칸입니다. 기록 대신 흔적으로 맞춰 본 이 방의 정체, 끝까지 따라가 봤습니다. #여의도…
