About
Italian orienteering athlete Mattia Debertolis collapsed during the men’s middle-distance event on August 8 and died in hospital four days later. The cause of death has not been disclosed. The sport of orienteering requires athletes to combine endurance, precise navigation and speed across challenging terrain.
