On Nov. 18, 1978, 909 people were found dead in Jonestown, Guyana. According to history.com, Peoples Temple founder Jim Jones had led his followers in a mass murder-suicide. Many of the followers willingly drank a poison-laced punch. Others were forced to drink it.
