An IndiGo flight travelling from Delhi to Chennai was diverted to Hyderabad on October 11 after a passenger’s power bank reportedly caught fire inside the cabin. Flight 6E 6115 landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, and all passengers and crew were reported safe. IndiGo said smoke had been detected from a passenger’s personal electronic device. According to the airline, cabin crew responded promptly and brought the situation under control before the pilots diverted the aircraft in accordance with safety procedures. An alternative aircraft was arranged to take passengers onward to Chennai. Videos circulating online showed flames near an overhead baggage compartment and passengers attempting to contain the fire.
